I joined the established Architectural Practice of Brock Charles in September 2010 until April this year. Originally from Leicester, I undertook my Architectural training in Birmingham and stayed here, living locally for nearly thirty years now. I brought a wealth of award-winning experience to Brock Charles, having worked in a variety of building sectors including beach-front properties during his work experience in Florida, Listed buildings and large commercial projects in the UK, including the refurbishment of the University of Cambridge Examination Board offices, and then expanded on that for the last fifteen years. I am an Ask The Expert each year at both Grand Designs Live and the Homebuilding and Renovation Show.

I enjoy playing football, road cycling and following Leicester City. I married Joanne in 1997, whom I met across a table football game whilst at University.

As a Director at Brock Charles, I led the design and Planning stages through to a conclusion and then provided optional or additional services for both Building Control Applications, the tender stage with builders for their fixed prices and can also act as Contract Administrator during the build on site if you need that assistance.

If required for your project, I can provide three-dimensional and visuals of the design to show you what an extension would look like and this is also often useful to show the allocated Planning Officer when 2D drawings cannot show the same detail in context. You can see an example within this website and I can provide others if requested.

Having qualified as an Architect in 1996, I have worked predominately in the residential sector the whole of my professional career. My passion is making space work; enhancing the space being experienced, whilst being understanding of the environment it is in.

I work with a talented 3D modelling and visualisation team which allows you to see your project in detail before construction begins. This helps ensure that the design meets your expectations and allows for any necessary changes to be made before construction starts.
